Aging and Prevention
«Aging is a privilege and a goal of society. It is also a challenge, impacting all aspects of 21st century society.»
— World Health Organization
Society is experiencing a 'demographic revolution': in 2000 there were about 800 million people over 60, by 2025 there will be 1.5 billion and 3 billion by 2050. Aging is accompanied by a rise in non-communicable diseases: cardiovascular, diabetes, Alzheimer's, neurodegenerative pathologies, cancers and musculoskeletal problems.
ANILDD's work has always been aimed at identifying the causes of social hardship and finding solutions to improve the quality of life of disadvantaged categories, including people with disabilities and the elderly.
Territorial Action
The deficit in healthcare organization in Southern and Central Italy has created pockets of extreme health and social need, translating into total assistance requests and creating many professional, employment and economic opportunities. The ANILDD Group and Research Center have decided to extend the macro project to four regions: Abruzzo, Marche, Lazio and Campania.
