European City of Social Wellbeing, Health and Sport

A macro project for centers of excellence in wellbeing across Abruzzo, Marche, Lazio and Campania. Conceived by Cav. Osvaldo Travaglini, filed at the Ministry of Labor in March 2012 and approved by the UN on February 8, 2013 as a project of world interest.

The project is linked to Article 3, paragraph 2 of the Italian Constitution and the principle of horizontal subsidiarity: «It is the duty of the Republic to remove the economic and social obstacles which, by limiting the freedom and equality of citizens, prevent the full development of the human person».

Social and Health Plan Objectives

  1. Reduce the number of preventable deaths and periods of illness and disability
  2. Reduce health inequalities
  3. Promote individual behaviors for personal health protection

Expected results: increased life expectancy, more significant access to services, improved lifestyles.

  • Youth policies
  • Rights of children and adolescents
  • Family responsibilities and women's reproductive health
  • Immigration and asylum
  • Fighting poverty
  • Elderly policies
  • Prevention of addiction and other forms of social hardship
  • Road and workplace safety policies
  • Prevalent pathologies

The «City of Wellbeing» is an inclusive smart city: its inhabitants will be the young, the less young, people with disabilities and the elderly, with the understanding that treating diseases is important but preventing them is even more so. Quality of life means extending life expectancy while preserving individual autonomy.

For those who have suffered disabling accidents or compromised neurological or physical functions, the project focuses on social and professional reintegration through rehabilitative therapies, physical, psychological and neurological recovery, with artisan workshops and startups located within the facility.

NeuroAbility Project — Neurocognitive Assessment for Injured Workers

Cognitive and psychiatric disabilities resulting from workplace injuries are among the most underrecognised areas in Italy's disability recognition system. Without objective instrumental tools, thousands of workers see their condition denied or undervalued.

ANILDD and NeuroMind AGI S.r.l. — a Rome-based innovative startup specialising in applied neurotechnology — have launched a collaboration to bring EEG-based neurocognitive assessment and artificial intelligence to the service of injured workers and their families.

Project Objectives

  1. Develop a shared protocol for the instrumental assessment of neurocognitive profiles in subjects with work-related acquired disability
  2. Support medico-legal commissions with objective and reproducible documentation
  3. Promote recognition of invisible disability — cognitive, psychiatric, neurological — still too often excluded from protection pathways
  4. Build an observatory on neurocognitive data of affected worker populations, contributing to national scientific research

Who It Is For

Workers with cognitive or neuropsychiatric outcomes from workplace injuries, occupational diseases or chronic work-related stress; families and caregivers; forensic physicians and disability assessment commissions.

Partner: NeuroMind AGI S.r.l. — innovative startup, Rome. EEG and AI technology for neurocognitive monitoring.

Anti-Violence Services

Gender-based violence must be fought daily in society. ANILDD offers concrete services to women victims of violence, providing shelter, assistance and pathways to social and professional reintegration.

According to ISTAT data, 31.5% of Italian women aged 16-70 have experienced some form of physical or sexual violence in their lifetime, while 16.1% have experienced stalking.
